Pfunanane Academy

Pfunanane Academy

Founded in 1997 as a Christian preschool, Pfunanane Academy now serves over 350 students through grade 7, with 27 caring and qualified teachers. Currently half of the children pay no tuition and are fully supported by the ministry, while the others are from families who are able to pay. The school provides a vital alternative to rural government schools that often struggle with large classes, low standards and poor attendance by both students and teachers.

In Pfunanane’s vibrant classrooms, children from various backgrounds join together in a non-stigmatizing environment. Dedicated teachers provide special attention and care, along with a quality Bible-based education.

The school offers computer classes, a daily feeding programme, arts and culture opportunities where the children embrace their heritage, ministry times, theatre productions, field trips, farming club, and sports programmes including cross country, soccer, athletics, netball, hockey, and equestrian.  Above all, we strive to teach our children to love and serve Jesus, as well as the values of discipline, kindness, servanthood, and hard work. Outreaches into the community help Pfunanane students live out our motto and the meaning of our name – “Let’s Help Each Other”.
